According to my favourite Islamic lecture of all time, the meaning of our life is In the Pursuit of Truth. Not intended to be all-encompassing, you get to define your own truth; mine happens to be compassion and Islam.

Ramisa [noun.] white rose.

Meaning of ‘white rose’ – “Sometimes called “the flower of light”, one of the meanings of white roses is everlasting love – love stronger than death, an eternal love, undying and all sustaining. White rose speaks of a love that is sustained more by loyalty, reverence and humility than by red-blooded passion.” [X]

I am a university student, writer, and tea enthusiast. Concurrently studying Law (Honours) and Arts (majoring in Philosophy and English) in order to gain perspective on social justice issues, the power of language, and human connection.

In the future, I hope to become a human rights lawyer on a pro-bono basis and interpret Sharia law (Islamic law) to empower women who are impacted by marriage anxiety and gender-based violence.

Hey Ramisa, it’s been far too long since we last spoke. I was wondering if you would allow me to be a guest author on the blog just once. Of course, we will discuss the ethics and content of the post in private, but I realise that we’ve been fairly pleasant friends and I’ve been neglecting contact with you.

Keep up the great work, my dear friend!

Tin, how lovely to hear from you again! And of course – would love to organise a guest blog post with you. Did you have any ideas in mind?

PS: Personally looking for factual, research-based pieces about justice – in its many forms – if you’re open to that! Otherwise, open to suggestions

A suggestion unrelated to topics of discussion: add yourself a contact form so I can more easily contact you instead of speaking through comments… *sheepish laughter*

Hmmm… I’ll think about it. It’ll be a while, but I’ll think about it.
